Holland Family Portrait

Yesterday was so busy! We had family portraits taken and Winifred's family came over for dinner

It was crazy. June and Honey were having a horrible time finding clothes, but thankfully found something my mom thought was "portrait appropriate".
But still took just long enough to make us late, which made my mom quite annoyed. We still made it just before they canceled our appointment.
And the rest was pretty painless.
It's definitely not the worst Holland Family portrait experience I've ever had.
And this was the first year that Juniper was in our family portrait!
I never really explained that Juniper lives with us. She's been Honeys best friend for years and this January we adopted her!
And she's nothing short of family.

New friend

Today, when Penelope came over after school, she brought over a friend!
Her name is Winifred and she just moved to Dollville from Colorado!
Today was her first day at school in Texas!
She lives right next door! And she loves to garden too!
She loves nature and yoga! Just like me! She's also a Buddhist- so I'll get to learn more about her religion!
I can already tell were all gonna be great friends!
They stayed over for a while and helped me garden, and we all talked.
I learned her favorite color is green, but she also really loves orange. Her favorite animal is an elephant, She says it's her spirit animal!

Her dad came over to meet my parents, and we made plans to have dinner together Friday!
She's so great and I can't wait to become close friends!

Friendship Bracelets

Penelope and I are making friendship bracelets today, and I thought I'd show you the process!
You will need thread a little longer than one arms length.
You will need 6 pieces of string, you can use as many colors as you would like but we decided to use three of our favorite colors and make our bracelets different colors!
Fold the thread in half and tie a knot near the end, making a loop.
Separate the colors into three groups, the begin to braid.
Start by putting the right string over the middle
And then the left over the middle strand.
Repeat until enough is braided to wrap around your wrist once.
Tie a knot at the end,
And then tie them to your wrist!
