Gardening in February

Penelope is over since it's Saturday!

Were starting some more plants inside, since it's still so cold.

We're both desperate for spring. 

Were starting some jalapeño seeds and sunflowers!

Of course we have to make sure we know which plant is what. 

Now were going to place them somewhere they can get light, give them a bit of water, and watch them grow! 

Jalapeños take 10-12 days to germinate,and sunflowers take 10-14.

Well be sure to keep you updated on the progress on all of our plants!

Boot planters

So I promised to show you once I decided what to put in the other boot. Although it's a little late to be planting these sweet pea flowers and they would do better outside, I think they'll look gorgeous growing out of a boot, so were gonna give it a try! 

Were only gonna put a couple seeds in the boot. I already prepared it in my last post. The boot already has holes in the bottom to allow drainage and has fresh soil for the seeds to take root in! 

Covering the seeds with soil! 

I labeled the first boot "flowers" because I didn't know what I was going to put in the other, but since they're both flowers I'm gonna change the label. 

Now were gonna water them, put then somewhere where they can get light, and let them grow! 

These boots are made for planting..

Hi guys, Today I'm going to be gardening in my boots. 

Literally! I'm going to be planting some flowers in this pair of boots. 

They match the boots I'm wearing! 

Once you have your boots, or whatever else you would like to plant in, you can add soil. 

My boots have holes in the bottom, but if yours don't you'll need to add rocks in the bottom so the roots don't drown when you water. 

And of course you need seeds! 

I decided to only put seeds in one boot. 

Since I'll have two different plants in identicle boots I added a label, so I knew this boot had the flowers! 

I'll let you guys know when I decide what to put in the other boot! 

Honey's Birthday Party

I didn't post yesterday because it was my sisters birthday! And I spent all day with her, juniper, and my mom. 

She also fractured her ankle! She fell while we were hiking. 

But today is her party, and she's not going to let her ankle stop her!

We invited over her friends, and Penelope came over! 

We had cake and of course presents! 

Honey still had a great time even though she was wobbling around on her crutches. 

She loved all of her presents, but her favorite had to be the bunny I got her!

She always loved my little lulu so my mom and I thought it would be a great idea to get her one. 

She named her berry! 

She also loved all of her other gifts and got a lot of cute things! 

We had a great time with our friends and playing games while eating cake!

She was so positive and fun even with her injury! 

Lanie's Garden!

So I woke up early so I could work on the garden today!

A little too early to just get started..

So I got to watch my favorite show! 

While I ate breakfast. 

2 egg whites (and half a yolk. I broke it on accident, whoops)

Strawberries

Cucumber

And a banana smoothie! 

Afterwards it was still too early to go out so I started messing with seeds! 

Since the garden plot isn't ready I decided to start some inside! 

Watermelon is sensitive so since it's so cold out still it's better to start it inside 

Cover the seeds in soil, add water, and place it somewhere it can get light!

(Although it still wasn't light out when I took this picture) 

The sun finally showed itself and I got tot work! 

I picked out where I wanted my garden 

And started digging!

Halfway done!

After hours of work and finally getting the plot how I wanted I decided to take a break!

But when I got inside I was too exhausted to go back out. 

I got a lot done today though!
